IFWA World Championship Tour 2009 - France - Results & Photos
> 05/05/2009
The Traditional French Freeride Competition, Jet Jump,
was last weekend and was the 11th year of the event.
For the the 5 year it was included in the International IFWA Freeride
Championship. Sun and big waves and Good attendance by the public make
it a memorable event of the season in Montalivet France, where the North
American Rider, Ross Champion, Current Champion Form 08 took the Win,
looking like he may repeat this year,
In Second Place the Italian Rider, Frederico Buffacci,
was looking to match the Champ easily but Had difficulty with his Jetski
in the Final heat. Ready with several new manuvers his strategy was
planed but it was not to be due to mechanical problems
Third Was the Vetern German Rider Mark ''The Shark''
Sikerling. he was nearly flawless in his heats however he did not bring
any new tricks to the field and was displaced by the ther riders mariginally.
In Fourth place, French Rider Maxime Borero, was the
surprise talent of the weekend. Throwing huge surf manuvers and riding
very well he was set to give the other top riders a run for thier money,
but in the semi he had problems with his Jetski and was forced to compete
on a back up and this seemed to slow him down and he was unable to finish
the event with the amazing flair he had shown earlier.
Additionally there were standout performances by Riders
from the UK that are set to be very competitive this year and we hope
to see them included in the World tour 2010.
The Competions included 28 riders from all over the
world and was the first stop on the 2009 IFWA Tour.
Next stops for ther Tour are - USA schedules for September 12-13 at
Pacific City Oregon. Finishing with the Championship in Picirras, SC,
Brasil October 22-23.
