It happened of 7 to September 9, 2007, 9th Jet
Waves World Championship, in the beach of the Brave, in Itajai/SC. Checks
the interview with pilot Leandro Vieira!
The freerider, natural of São José, Santa Catarina/BR,
Leandro Vieira, 27 years old, was one of the competitors of 9th Jet
Waves Championship 2007, which happened between 7 and September 9, 2007.
For Leandro, to participate in that championship is an only opportunity,
mainly because is in his state, unassuming that the competitors' high
level and the super radicals of the event. Leandro got to participate
of all the world stages of the championship that year.
The taste for the freeride began when his father bought,
in 1994, a jet-ski for the family to have a good time in the weekends,
in the calm waters of Barra da Lagoa. He participates in CTG and it
competes in the race of drums as well. The jet entered in the life of
Leandro as a secondary habit; because the one that he wanted in that
sport was to increase his body to improve his acting in the circumlocutions.
The one that he didn't count was that would be caught
for the free ride and that races would become the secondary activity.
He is not satisfied with litlle, the objective is always to do the best
presentation as possible. He is the only Brazilian that rides in the
two modalities, stand up and sit dow.
In the Brave Beach, the place chosen for the competition,
the waves were great and the whole atmosphere pleased the pilot a lot.
He believes that enters the competitors the healthy dispute and that
doesn't have excessive rivalry. The main difference between the jet
waves and the other competitions is the present and constant radical.
What cannot lack in a good competitor is courage and
good prepare physical. He says to agree with the evaluation approaches
(50% for surf and 50% for the jumps and maneuvers) and complements that
the freeride is a healthy sport and escapes completely from the monotony.
