The French Pierre Maixent is the Stand Up's
champion of 8th Jet Waves, FreeRide World Championship, happened in
November 24th, 25th and 26th 2006, in Vila Beach, Imbituba/SC.

Beyond get the first placement in Stand Up class in
a final disputed with Italian Federico Bufacchi, Pierre disputed Sit
Down's final, too, where the South African Jimmy Visser was the winner.
One of the championship's leaders during all competition and only rider
that compete in two class, he affirms it's a hard conquest, because
he disputed both finals, one soon after the other.
Despite of good results during all competition, where
was the second placement in Stand Up class in Bali, France and Portugal's
round and the fourth in Spain, he affirms that faced some difficulty
last week: "This week was very hard to me, because doesn't waves
and my higher points are in big waves."

The tricks: Can can, No hand and Back flip no hand are
the most difficult for Pierre, despite of difficulty, he doesn't hide
his like for big jumps: "You feel a bigger adrenaline. It's a big
sensation", explains.
The rider going to 10 days in Brazil doesn't train in
Vila Beach before this round: "I spent last week in Florianopolis.
I love Brazil and Imbituba, unfortunately, this week haven't waves",
lamented. In France, Pierre use train in Montalivet Beach that received
one championship' round: "It's a nice place, with big waves, I
go there twice on week", tells. He add that the time in the sea
depend of the waves' quality.
Pierre started ride on jet in 1997. "I rode on
ski until 2001, when I stopped and began compete with jet", tells
The freedom and happiness is together the rider when he's facing the
waves: "It's something that I like!" The rider finished thanking
all of people that make the Jet Waves happen, organization, sponsors
and riders.
