> Xan show all your courage in Free Ride

Alexandre Sampaio, called "Xan", 29, from Florianópolis-SC, was in Free Ride Nation Cup, in September 2nd and 3rd 2006, in Bali-Indonesia. Despite the foot broken, the pilot's courage was evident in the championship.

Xan tells that was in Bali Free Ride was an unforgettable experience in professional and personal life. He affirms, waves and the weather was favor the riders. ''It was the right day to make a complete show with o lot of maneuvers e big expectative'', believe. Minutes before the beginning of the heats, have a cultural show and all pilots and organizers take part in. ''It's fascinating''.

Your expectative wasn't overcome because he hoped a perfect performance, but unfortunately he had problems with your jet in the first heat and after he broke his foot in the second heat, so Xan didn't participate of the last heat, on Sunday. Like all athlete when hurts, he was bother and a little disappointed, but knows that it's a part of his job. ''All know the risk of suffer fractures and some injuries. "It's sport's adventure."

He broke the foot in Back Flip maneuvers. In the middle of heat he risked with might and main. ''I was bother with jet's problem in the first heat, so I wanted compensate in the second, but I confess that exaggerated, I didn't go so higher'', says.

With all your courage, he didn't renounce the competition at the moment, he used all his strong to finished the heat on Saturday, despite the foot broken. But on Sunday with foot be in plaster, he didn't have choice, not to join the competition. At the end of Saturday he was in the 4ª placement. On Sunday, some changes happened and he fall to 8º.

The long trip and time zone let Xan a little tired and lost in Bali. The food was impressive for him. Further more, he passes other difficulties during the championship, for example, go on in the heat after he broke his foot. ''I rode about five minutes making surf and little jumps, using only the right foot'', tells. On Sunday was difficult for him, see the others pilots on the sea. He couldn't compete. In the back to his home, the foot dominated situations, was more than 30 hours of flights, stopping in some places to change the airplane. Pain in the foot and all body. The tire's sensation dominated this warrior.

He only knew Bali for photos, television and friend's commentaries. What most called your attention was the way like riders was receive and treat. ''The hospitality was grade 1000!'', affirm.

On Friday and Saturday the waves were perfects and the weathers help a lot the riders. But on Sunday the waves became stronger and weren't perfects, anyway were a show. For him the best was visit Bali and get more knowledge for your life. He says, ''culture don't have price!''

The union between riders was perfect. Xan tells that all pilots have a good relationship and it's fundamental to sport's growth. Over there, he thinks that the technical level of riders was very good, need more perfomance.

This round, he was play by Blowsion Team. It's the first time that they worked together. He thinks the partner was very good for both, he comments that already plan to future and a big potential.

Your training was a little different. Nothing of physical training and with jet ski. This time he search work more the mental and body equilibrium. His counscience let he knows that the state of mind influence the result.

About the organization he evaluated that Tchelo is indispensable. ''He and Fragoso, from Portugal, was part fundamental for the event '', says.

Bali received the event from open arms for Xan. Posters, banners and flags were spread for all city making a wonderful scenery that he never had seen before.

He believes that event was very promissory to sport. About your participated, he tells that despite your injury, he got the difficulties with a positive way. ''I did a good job before and during the event, now with this injury on my foot, I have a lot of job after the event'', affims. He wil be there in the next round, in Brazil.

The Freeride's next round will be in Brazil and Xan will be there, for sure. Now he's in United States treating your foot and spine to be better fast. He will work together your sponsors to get a good structure for the next round. Your sponsors are: XFT, Blowsion, Jet Traction, WSM, Lynx, Pells, Azhiaziam, Fullgaz.

Xan thanks all people who help him, before and during the event. For people who are help his, now with the broken foot, too. He thanks until the injuries. ''I believe that without it, I wouldn't motive to train and compete''.
