Jimmy's the first of all in Free Ride's
France round, and the second in Portugal. One of more experience than
the most riders, he encourages the younger, he's very happy to see the
Pierre Maxeinne's backflips, the Kalambre's barrel rolls... "I
respect them all and we are good friends", he tells.
Jimmy used to race moto and bodyboard. In 1996 he stopped
racing and was looking for something else to do, found in jet-ski the
perfect combination of Moto and body boarding. "Jet-ski is one
of the most important things in my life. I think about it when I wake
up, wondering if the waves are good", he says. Decided ride in
Free Ride, because thinks the event is one excellent opportunity to
be with the best riders of the world, in five countries different: "I
have to be there!"
Your best maneuver was twice no-hand backflips
on two waves right after each other, realized on Vendays Montalivet.
"I knew I would be the winner", he tells. Jimmy thinks the
tube ride is the most difficult maneuver, because have to find the right
wave at the right time, be brave and have perfect control and understanding
of the surf.
In Portugal round, on Peniche, Jimmy's the second of
all, the winner was his son, James. They're sharing a jet-ski, so when
we met in the finals one had to use a jet from other rider. "So
James got the good ski and he won. I'm very happy he won!" he says.
James, Beyond son and rider, James' the biggest support, like his wife
Lindy. "And Lindy who supports us to go to all the events."
In Spain round, on Zarautz the things didn't happen
like was planned, due the weather "it was cold, the waves were
bad!" he says. Jimmy thinks that the organizers are doing a good
job. "It is a very difficult job. In Peniche round, was the best
organization in the world." The best moment in all championship
was the interview given to Patrick, the organizer at the end of the
final that he won, "it was great to hear him say 'Jimbo you have
won again in Montalivet for the 7th year in a row, you never loose?"
Though loves the European architecture, Jimmy didn't
have time to go out, "we were always too busy fixing jet-skis",
he remembers. He believes, the waves are the best thing that the place
can offer.
For the next rounds, he hopes goods waves and
that all riders can be there, too. He thanks all the organizers, friends
and sponsors to support for he can true what he loves. "This is
the best sport in the world to be a spectator or to ride. It looks so
spectacular like surfing and freestyle moto rolled into one, on beautiful
beaches with good looking people!"
